This is hands down my favorite place to get breakfast in downtown Albuquerque!! Their food has always been 10/10, and the wait time is under 10 minutes even when they are JAM PACKED!!! So if you're hungry, don't worry! Everyone who works there is nice as nice can be too, from the first time I went in to the 100th, everything has been consistent. The dining area is very laid back and has an artistic vibe going on. I'll remain a regular customer for as long as I can be, and am thankful for this lovely lil spot!

Java Joe's is one of my favorite spots for brekkie. Their coffee is also delightful! I only make it down there on weekends due to work, so I do suffer from the crowds. The dining room isn't huge and often times the seats are filled. We always find ourselves hovering to snatch a seat while the other orders.
My go-to is their breakfast enchiladas with red chile. The enchi's come flat with black beans, choice of chile and eggs and lil garnish. It always hits the spot for me.
They have a full menu of lovely items along with daily specials. You can get a fancy coffee or stick with the drip brew too. You'll be happy with either route I promise.
When the dining room is full, it can get very loud, so be prepared to turn up your vocals a notch. It's favorite spot and you can tell.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Nov 21, 2023
This is one of my daughter's favorite place to study, the coffee is good too. We caught Java Joes at 3pm (they close at 3:30pm), kitchen was closed but custom coffee and tea were available... plus some amazing scones (did I mention the scones)! Roomy and comfortable atmosphere, very friendly and competent baristas! I'll be back

Java Joes is always a good time. i just recently tried their buckwheat crepes and i haven't stopped thinking about them since! paired with a side of fried eggs and sausage (for protein of course) and an iced dulce de leche latte (my absolute favorite drink to order there) you can't go wrong!! service is speedy and friendly, vibes inside are cheery and bright.

Got a chicken salad sandwich & cup of cheese potato soup with ice tea. The sandwich was yummy so was the soup....tea was nice too! It was alot of food & had to get a to go box. Very cute & cozy place with lots of art work. I'll be back to try the coffee. They have all kinds of coffee blends you can buy. I think they roast their own. Service was great too!

This is the downtown staple where actual downtowners go. It's small but friendly and have some of the best coffee around.
During the pandemic, the owners made the decision to pull the crepe machine out of the growers market. It's now at the restaurant making the buckwheat, gluten free crepes of your dreams. Admittedly, I usually get the Nutella and banana but I was with a health-nit so I changed it up with a smoked salmon, cream cheese, caper, and tomato crepe. Absolutely delicious.
We went there specifically for the pancakes though. Sometimes you just need a thick, fluffy pancake like mom used to make - and these do not disappoint. My only complaint is that there aren't syrup options. Not because I am picky, but my friend has a pretty severe corn allergy and "pancake syrup" that isn't actual maple syrup is full of corn syrup. Maybe a fruit purée or charge extra for real maple? I don't know.
But the latte and the drip coffee were both delicious. I also tried the biscotti for the first time and it was just the right amount of sweet and crispy. Delicious.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 7, 2023
I haven't been here since the pandemic and I was pleased to find it's just as busy as always and just as delicious! I had the breakfast enchiladas (christmas!) with my eggs over medium and everything was done just right. The red and green combo had a good kick but it wasn't overwhelming so spicey but I could still taste the flavors in the food. My friends had crepes and the oatmeal both of them looked delicious. I will definitely have to give the crepes a try next time! They also always have a great selection of brewed coffee and lots of other beverages to choose from. Couple all of that to a friendly staff and you have a pretty awesome place!

I have been going to Java Joe's for ages, never have I had a bad experience until last week when I was denied service for allegations that I stole a lotion sample. I assumed it was a case of mistaken identity since I have not taken anything from Java Joe's ,so I reached out to the owner on several platforms and telephone messages asking for the opportunity to discuss the accusations. At no point were any of my messages answered. I was humiliated and upset and as the days go by without an answer, I'm more and more angry.
I was given no benefit of the doubt and no opportunity to clear up the misunderstanding. It is unlikely that I will ever try to return or recommend Java Joe's to anyone given the treatment I have received after patronizing the establishment for probably 17 years.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ted K.San Francisco, CA01Mar 1, 2024
Been going here for nearly two decades. Now being denied service for BS reasons. Owner will not respond to any inquiries. Implication at this point is antisemitism as this treatment began just after we started wearing identifiably Jewish jewelry.
Take your money elsewhere.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - sharen l.Albuquerque, NM041Nov 10, 2023
OMG!!! To all you Yelpers out there, if you're a fan of breakfast burritos and green chile chowder, this is a MUST TRY! I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito smothered with green chile chowder and cheese.... WOW!! It was, by far, the most delicious food that I have ever had at Joe's! The breakfast burrito is amazing in itself, but, smothered with the green chile chowder... it's the best thing since sliced bread! Try it, I promise you won't regret it. The manager, Cailan, right down to the busser/ dishwasher, Primo are awesome. They come by to check if your dining experience is what you hoped. Major props to the cook, Rob. Try it, you'll like it.
