Arrived right at the end of lunch time (two minutes to go) and we figured we had made it just in time for the lunch buffet..

We were seated right away and the sever brought us our drinks. The options were quite interesting and they do have quite a variety of dishes.

I tried out the egg drop soup, fried rice, honey chicken, salmon, chicken with broccoli, pizza, sweet and sour chicken, and mushrooms to name a few.

Food was decent and we were able to get two plates each. We went to grab one of their sugared breads for dessert and noticed that they were all rock hard. One of the cooks must've been watching us because she quickly ran over and told us she would bring fresh ones out. She was soo kind.

We ended up having to pay for two dinner meals so it ended up being around $11 per person plus drinks and tax.

The food is okay but the inside needs a cleaning. The tables are old and the carpet just has to go.

I had low expectations for this place based on appearance and such. Way below my expectations of bad.

Only thing that was good was the dessert cake.

Everything else was soggy, falling apart. Not good at all, save your money go somewhere else. Your stomach and tastebuds will thank you

Eh it wasn't great but wasn't horrible. You can never expect to much from these buffets. For a buffet it was in the middle.

I came here with lower expectations, knowing the quality will be nothing like in a big city. I was very disappointed. Everything was dried out and had an excessive MSG taste. A waste of money and will not come back.

Hobbs doesn't have a large selection of what people around here would call 'exotic' foods. So Chinese food would fall into that category. For example, we have no Vietnamese food (Pho anyone!), we have no Taiwan Food (Crispy Duck!), we have no Indian food, middle eastern food, not really much of anything other than fast food, Mexican food and Steaks.

Having grown up and spent most of my life in Southern California and DC, I know a lot about other cultures foods (I have eaten hem most of my life). Being that this is in the interior of the US, where Sea Food is scarce and people don't much care to try other types of food, when a Chinese food place is around I tend to give it a go and I can safely say that Dragon China Buffet is pretty good. It has the traditional Chinese Buffet foods and they are prepared properly. The Tso's Chicken was both crispy and moist in the middle with the right amount of flavoring. The lo Mein was good, unfortunately they do NOT have BBQ Pork, which is very sad and that alone takes off a star in my book. Their Pork fried rice would be so much better is they used that pork. Anyway, their pork in their pork fried rice could have a bit more flavor, but wasn't bad. The Brocoli Beef was good, the broccoli wasn't over cooked and the Orange Chicken didn't taste like pure sugar, so that's a plus.

Restaurants need to be rated based on their areas, not a restaurant in Inglewood or Garden Grove or in China Town in San Fran, so Dragon China Buffet is worth the visit if you are looking for something other than a Steak or Mexican Food.

Anyway, everything was as I have had it in other places around the country so for the area and the type of food, I give it 4 stars. At least it's not the same old Mexican food.

Though I have to say, I wish their was a Pho 99 around here, yum yum yum!

It was a completely typical chinese buffet, not great but not terrible either. A large variety of bland warm food sitting on buffet tables. The boiled shrimp, bland, the fried rice, bland, the general tso chicken, bland. All together, a large variety of bland warm food, served in a bland setting by bland wait personnel. Scott thinks differently but then he was really hungry.

I thought it would be good to try early in the day while the food is probably fresh. We went at 11:30 am and I was so wrong. The food was all dry and I could barely chew it. The noodles were cold and barely had any flavor. I didn't even finish 1 plate. My husband said it wasn't the worst he's ever had, but it probably is close to the worst I've had.

Went last night. Food dried out on buffet. OLD....Greasy...greasy... greasy!! No boiled shrimp...no crab leggs. They did have frog leggs but they were overcooked and dried out completely, Same as octopus. They had not much by way of healthy choices.. Even the samon was bathed in grease... and been out a while. Expected better on a weekend night no less. They charge top dollar and I've been two times. Don't bother. Bland, NOTHING SPECIAL!....GO TO EMPIRE albertsons instead! Dragon gets 2 stars because the service was good. I won't be back.
