Hands down the best pizza we've had in ABQ so far.

We got a Deep Dish of El Lobo and enjoyed every minute of it - amazing crust, sweet sauce, and a good amount of toppings.

We also got a small order of the Lobo breadsticks and they were just as good!

      We'll be back

Brickyard Pizza is reliable: always slow. Today may have been a new low, but there have been a lot of lows, so it's hard to say for sure. In any case, I came to regret bringing my business here.

My principal sore point is that it took almost an hour for my large order of Lobo Breadsticks to hit the table. While I was waiting, I watched two other parties, both who seemingly ordered after me, receive their large orders of Lobo Breadsticks first. That just hurts, yo.

The amount of time it took between ordering drinks and receiving those drinks averaged around ten minutes. That made it a little hard to capitalize on happy hour prices.

Ugh, I should not have gotten my hopes up about coming here. Hopefully it was for the last time. "Thanks for your patience" indeed.

Great spot open late even on weekdays. Servers were attentive but not overbearing and the food was delicious. So-so beer selection (better if you're an IPA fan)... hard to beat two dollar coors light on Tuesdays though. This time we tried the pesto chicken pizza which came out hot and delicious with fluffy crust as usual.

I hate to say it, but my loyalty to Brickyard may be at an end. I had a friend in town and, although I've had a few bad experiences with Brickyard in recent months, was really excited to introduce her to their awesome deep dish pizza. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Really, I was embarrassed.
For one, thirty minutes after I ordered the carry out order, we came to the restaurant to be told 20 more minutes. For carry out. At 50% [COVID] capacity. Ok, well, it's an opportunity to have a beer down the street while we wait. And we showed up 30 minutes later to be told it'd be another 10 minutes. ?? A sudden surge of Grub Hub orders was the explanation, which the begs the question why a direct call-in order was a lower priority... unsat.
But it'll be worth the wait, riiiiight?
Maybe the hand tossed pizzas I got for my fam were fine, but the deep dish pizza was an insult. See the picture; it was literally (not figuratively) a hand tossed crust pressed into the square deep dish pan. And though they didn't provide the extra dough, we were nonetheless charged an additional $3 for it. Rather than tell us "sorry, we're out of deep dish," they pawned off a fake to exploit us for the extra cash. But not just that, I'm pretty sure they used an old crust or even recycled a "mistake pizza", because it was literally (not figuratively) the texture of thick cardboard.
Was it a bad day? unexpectedly busy? Maybe so. But did they deliberately maintain an upcharge for something they knew very well they were not providing? Without a doubt. For this reason, my trust in them as an honest business is significantly compromised, and I give them one instead of two or three stars. I won't try to impress my frequent out-of-town friends or Airbnb guests by recommending them anymore. And I will likely use Saggios's or Slice Parlor for family pizza night from now on. Sucks too, because the sauce and flavor here is generally great.

Damn Brickyard used to be the best. Covid not only killed the portion size but the taste and the service.
I ordered for take out and I foolishly thought you could make substitutions and they would get it right like they used to. We got zones , they can't call them calzones anymore, meat rolled in dough no sauce. They could charge for the extra ingredients but they sure can't add them.

Greatest artichoke dip bowl in town!! Service can be slow at times but the severs are barely old enough to buy a beer. The portions are great and other menu items are good but 9 times out of ten the burn their calzones so be prepared for that. Servers are friendly but young and new at there job and it will show as they stand at the end of the bar talking and laughing as you wave your arms for another beer. Oh the beer; great selection of beers! And I've watched a few games there too. Good for that past time.
Try it when you aren't in huge rush. Honestly when I crave the artichoke bowl I order it to go now because I don't have the time or patients to dine in anymoOh yeah they could use new booths they are old and worn...that's my biggest complaint. Eat Local!!!
UPDATE: renovations are great they took out seating and added a foos ball table. The girls are still super young and yesterday I went in for the artichoke bowl and the bartender was sweet but I felt like I imposed on the waitress to order my food. That was a downer but I was sweet kept smiling and moved right along. The attitude was enough to keep me from adding a star tho. Good business is happy employees that make you glad you stopped in. I felt like I bugged them because they had to get up from their visiting spot to put my order in. I even tipped on the to go order and she did not really have to do much so yeah still a 3 star experience. I wish I could get the same exact treat somewhere else because I would.
NEW UPDATE: They changed the only thing was great enough to bring me back again and again. The artichoke bowl and dip is awful now. It's so foul a room full of four people let it sit until it wasn't good anymore during the football game are used to have to buy two during football season to cover everybody sitting around watching the game. It's runny the cheese sticks to the top and ruins and destroys everything the bowl isn't full anymore it's flat and for some reason this particular one had like a fishy aftertaste. Why when you have publicized reviews of how good your artichoke dip is would you make a change like??? Directed to the owner! Please return to the original artichoke bowl. Now the only other good thing that comes out of Brickyard Pizza is there a green chili bacon bloody Mary. Three years ago I would've said calzone but the last five calzones I've ordered have been burnt black on one side. Dropping fast; those renovations must've cost you too much for you to touch the quality of your food. I'm so disappointed I have a lump in my throat I could cry. It literally was the only artichoke dip I ate in my life anymore because it was that good and I couldn't stand anything else and now yours is just like everyone else's. P.S. it was a playoff day at noon and there was only one guy in there. That should tell you something!!!!

Okay just writing this review is making me want to skip my workout and go here instead. I've only been here two times because I'm really never by UNM but I should probably stop making excuses. The times I've been here, it's during the day so not busy at all however I hear it gets pretty packed in the night, which I'm interested to check out. Service has always been quick and friendly.

I love that you can order your own personal pizza because if you're like me, you like toppings on toppings on toppings. A MUST have when you're here is the twisty bread! Make sure you get a side of cheese sauce to go with it. I got it the first time and I'll never be able to NOT order it when I stop by. The pizza does not disappoint in the least, you get an amazing quality pizza with a beer and it doesn't break the bank. Love this place.

Pizza and the dough are yummy, toppings are fresh. They also have very good salads, which can sometimes be hard to find in ABQ. Brickyard is the only pizza place around Nob Hill that provides delivery and is not a pizza chain with highly processed ingredients. Delivery staff is always on time and very friendly.

Just a couple of cons: 1) Get the calzone's well done unless you like a calzone with a uncooked dough in the center. 2) Everything on menu is good except for the wings. They taste like wings you would get at frozen section of a grocery store. I hope they improve this item, bc it's good to have options if you aren't in the mood for pizza.

Service is still hit and miss over the years. They changed their artichoke dip to something decidedly worse. It was one of my favorite menu items and my usual excuse to go there. Don't think I'll be going back for a long time.

The PBR special is still a good value. But that's about it.
