HIEF and its board of directors coordinate and administer the high school culinary arts program ProStart, Serving NM, the hospitality and restaurant relief fund, and provides scholarships for deserving college culinary arts students.

The New Mexico Commission for the Blind, Business Enterprise Program establishes and maintains food and vending services operated by qualified and trained legally blind individuals.
