My family and I stopped here after 17 hours on the road, escaping California.
There were three New Mexico State Troopers taking Code 7 here, so we took that as a good sign, and we were not disappointed.
It was classic Mexican food served by a friendly staff in a clean and peaceful setting. I enjoyed the craft beers available by the bottle as well.
This was a great reprieve before getting back on the road.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 23, 2023
Very busy on a Saturday night, and seemed a little short staffed. Food came out hot and fresh. Loved the enchiladas and the beans. Did not care for the posole or the chips and salsa.
If you're in town and need a place to stop, this is the place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robert B.Gilbert, AZ07May 8, 2024
Neat Route 66 cafe with good food and service! Cafe was busy but got seated and served quickly. Enjoyed the gift shop also.

Left Oklahoma City headed to Santa Fe. My BIL told us that we had to stop in Santa Rosa and eat at the Silver Moon, so we did. It is historic in Santa Rosa. The venue has that small town feel with throwback decor.
Sort of that truck stop cafe vibe. It shares space with a gift shop, the kind you would expect on I-40.
Now to the food. I had the blue corn, hatch green chili chicken enchiladas. They were excellent and were served with pinto beans and pozole. The beans and posole were both good. The enchiladas were a 5/5. I rate the entree at 4.0.
Jan had the pozole soup that she rated high. It was a large bowl serced with her choice of corn tortias. When she asked for extra pozole to add to the soup, they brought two small bowls.
The chips and salsa are no complimentary. The chips were a little on the hard side and the salsa was ordinary.
It is convenient to I-40, just off exit 277. The food was good, the service was excellent, and the venu was a little tired. I would stop again.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Evil V.Chatsworth, Chatsworth, CA05Apr 1, 2024
Delicious. Ordered the Chiles Rellenos and they were so tasty. The pozole couldve been a bit better. Fresh yummy beans though. My partner had the Smokehous Burger. They said it was good. Sweet Potato fries yummy. Tried the margaritas. The classic is so good with that agave. Mango one was okay. Would ask for the classic with chili rim if I came here again. Better than any drink u can get in vegas (and i lived there). yum take a stop here please this spot is recommended by locals to us. also the server was very sweet and professional and made sure we got everything we needed.

We arrived right at dinner time (6PM) on a Tuesday night. We were seated quickly however the table was not clean. There were bits of rice and paper on it. It took awhile to place our order as it was getting busy. Staff were pleasant despite working hard. The enchilada de Santa Fe were OK but certainly not rave worthy. Posole was pretty boring. The beans were good and were not plain, canned, refried beans like in many places. The best part of the Chicken Fajita salad was the chicken. Tender. moist, flavorful. The rest of the salad was OK. Large leaves of lettuce were laid, uncut, down first. There were olives, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes and a couple shreds of carrot and 3 or 4 shreds of cabbage. The salsa was supposedly homemade however it reminded me of Old El Paso brand. We didn't go hungry, so that's good.

Great spot on historic Route 66. My car's GPS did not give accurate directions, but fortunately my iPhone came through. Started in 1959, and still going strong. Ambience is casual, fun gift store attached. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Chips and salsa were tasty. I had chicken enchiladas in blue corn with side beans, and colorful greens. They really packed in a lot of chicken! The sauce was mild and subtle. Prices were excellent. Would not consider this fast food; highly recommended as a stopping place on your travels along I 40. Stop in a chill out!

I placed my order for carryout on the way into town and it was ready on time. The staff was nice enough but part of my order was missing. By the time I got to the hotel to eat, I realized there was one salsa and I had paid for extra, there was an order of pasoli and an order of beans missing also. I got 2 sides with my meal but paid for the additional sides which I did not receive.
Also, I would have eaten there but read they do not allow dogs on the patio and I had just driven 12 hours so I don't feel like going back. Food was adequate but always hard to judge carryout, reheated food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 24038423265Apr 8, 2023
Well after looking at reviews last night I was not quite sure what to expect.
This restaurant is right off the historic route 66 and very near to a lot of the hotels.
There was plenty of parking in the lot and you can order online for pickup.
There is a gift shop at front you can peruse if you'd like upon arrival. We did have around 5-10 minute wait to be seated. It seemed there were only a few people working. They were actually pretty busy inside the restaurant seemed like many locals as they were really chatting with the waitress and seemed to know or be familiar with each other.
Pros :
1. There are some vegan options. There is a vegan Aztec salad available. I ordered veggie fajitas and got no sour cream or cheese. For vegetarians my daughter got cheese enchiladas
2. The beans are vegetarian.
3. The corn tortillas and chips are gluten free.
4. The food was really tasty. We really enjoyed our meals
5. Service was friendly.
6. Portion sizes were fair.
7. Restaurant was clean. Music was at a good level.
Cons :
1. Just the wait and limited staff
2. Getting charged extra to get beans with the meals
Would come back if I was in the areaHelpful 34Thanks 2Love this 33Oh no 1
