I been coming for a long time already and this place never failed to satisfy me and my family! The food is so delicious and tasty, honestly it takes us to world of tastes. The service is great and the owner of this place always elevates the mood and always does a magic trick that confuses us and makes our brains blow! The ambiance there is great with the aesthetic and theme. I definitely recommend this place for birthdays, dates, or just wanting to eat delicious food! Honestly if I could add 10 stars to this place I would most definitely! The bathrooms, chairs, and tables are so squeaky clean, I really like that!
I am definitely coming again and everyone should like this place!
Thanks Lorenzo for the food!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Skip P.NM, NM126Apr 17, 2024
I don't understand all the rave reviews
I had the linguine and clam sauce which I found to lack flavor. The pasta was cooked correctly and plenty of clams just no flavor.
The pea and ham soup was very flavorful, but the ham much gristle
Also, the restaurant was freezing. My wife and I could not enjoy our meal because it was so cold.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Norm 1.TX, TX02Apr 23, 2024
The service was outstanding but the food was outstanding, too. The salad was fresh with fresh greens and tomatoes. NO iceberg lettuce!! And the in house dressing was delicious. The warm bread squares were so good I hated to leave any of the generous portion. I got grilled chicken over linguine in a delicious creamy sauce. My friend got these huge grilled shrimp with scallops over spaghetti. We both loved our dish!! Then for dessert he got tiramisu which was flown in from Italy. I got three scoops of Italian ice cream. Both were excellent!! If I lived in Las Cruces I would definitely eat here twice a week! The restaurant had a pleasant Italian ambiance, too.

What a wonderful dining experience at Lorenzo's. We are on a spring break roadtrip and chose this place. On entering at 5pm on a Thursday the place was pretty much full, but we were seated within 5 minutes. The menu is extensive and well thought out. Prices seemed very reasonable, but the magic was on the back page. There are for choices where you can order a trio of samples that may up a full meal. I had the spaghetti and tomato sauce, with chicken Alfredo and green chili lasagna. It was amazing. The bottomless homemade bread was to die for!
What made this place extra special for us was our server Tony, who was also one of the owners. Where do you see this, an owner actually working the dining room.? He was warm, friendly and busting with personality. I believe his brothers are the the head chefs. To top it off was when his Mom, Mary, came out from the kitchen to say hello, bring us a portion of tiramisu, that was actually made in Sicily and flown over regularly! Don't leave without trying it! There's a lot of love, passion and tradition that goes into the food at Lorenzo's. These's a reason a restaurant has been around for 30 years. We will be back if we are ever in this area. Don't pass by without stopping in.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rob. P.Las Cruces, NM0192220Feb 12, 2024
Ignore all the Fervent Five Star Fanatics who post of Google. I'll give you the real story.
I dropped in for lunch at Lorenzo's, a restaurant I had not been to in a few years. I was immediately greeted by a most pleasant hostess/waitress named Lauren. Lauren was super sweet and very efficient. Whatever they pay her it is not enough. I was immediately led to a table and my drink order was taken. I did notice that my wood chair was pretty wobbly. They really do need to look into this. Otherwise, the restaurant is clean and comfortable if a bit dated in ambiance. I ordered the green chile and beef lasagna which came with fresh bread and a bowl of minestrone. Everything was prepared timely and on my table within ten minutes. Most everything at Lorenzo's is made from scratch, in house. The flatbread was very good. Rate it a B+. The minestrone however was not very good. It had little pasta and few vegetables beyond some red and white beans. The broth had sort of an oily taste to it. Rate the minestrone a "C" meaning quite mediocre. Most restaurants I've been to serve much better minestrone. The thin highly seasoned and cheesy crispy bread sticks that came with the soup were good. The lasagna itself was good but not up there among the best. For those of you who might be hesitant to order lasagna with green chile in it fear not. The chile goes almost unnoticed. The tomato sauce (their version of sugo) that accompanies the lasagna has a pronounced tomato flavor and is just a tad sweet. I enjoyed the sauce but it may not be what everyone is used to. Overall, Lorenzo's lasagna is good but nothing too special. Rate it a "B" meaning it was good but nothing to write home about.
For the entire dining experience rate Lorenzo's Four Stars...meaning quite good but not reaching the highest level of culinary perfection. In Las Cruces I would still rate Lorenzo's in the top seven or eight among non-Mexican restaurants.
What to expect if you go: comfortable dining in a somewhat dated but not unattractive atmosphere, a well rounded menu of southern Italian cuisine, reasonable prices (despite what some would have you believe), decent portions of comfort food, and food quality that is fairly good but not top drawer. The service upon my visit was very good, quite professional. I enjoyed my time at Lorenzo's restaurant but I was not blown away by the quality of the food. The bread was very good, but the soup not good at all. I would never order the soup again. The lasagna was good but not outstanding. Was it good enough to draw me back on a regular basis? Not sure.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susan M.Talent, OR05Feb 13, 2024
Just finished lunch at lorenzos. Food is tasty (a little on the sweet side). My complaint is with
the owner., (could tell from pic on wall). So we're having a nice lunch out and he sits at a table behind us and blaring videos on his phone! So loud and rude.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stacey C.Emeryville, CA391717Oct 6, 2023
Bummer. I lived in Las Cruces for most of my life and Lorenzos has always been one of my favorite places.
I just got the tortellini for my hotel room and got it back and it is not Lorenzo's tortellini. It is some cheese tortellini. That is not what I remember. I also had that Italian wedding soup and it was not good.
I got online to look at the reviews to see if everybody felt the way I do and it looks like they changed owners which explains a lot.
Such a bummer, the only part that seemed like the Lorenzos I know is the flatbread, which was still amazingHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin D.Leander, TX35174Mar 11, 2024
The atmosphere was nice, the staff freindly enough. I had the chicken parmesan. Pasta was good and i would even guess handmade. The chicken was terrible. Came with a large portion except it was one cutlet on top of another. The bottom cutlet was unbreaded and flavorless. The top was breaded but very soggy. The sauce was too sweet and did not taste fresh at all and had a few unusually large pieces of onion. Oddly, the dish was covered in that stinky powdered parmesan stuff, definitely not fresh or expected in an Italian restaurant. Had i not been traveling all day and this being very close to my hotel, i might have left and went to the chain Italian restaurant in town. When leaving i noticed that they were selling jars of their sauce and i thought they must have opened a jar for my meal. For the price they charge, i expected better. They do offer a military discount on the food, which I appreciate very much.

Service and food were top notch! The tomato basil soup was great and the three cheese lasagna was delicious! We shared a tiramisu and it was also tasty. Someone mentioned the bread in a post so I couldn't wait to try it and they were spot on! It's really good! Can't complain here, we enjoyed the experience and loved the food!

We were really disappointed this evening. We are long-term patrons of Lorenzo's, and it's one of the few places we'll go to eat out. We called in a take-out order for two salads - nothing more. I'm not sure how long we would have waited, but I went in after 40 minutes, and it appeared the order was ready and had been for a while. I also had to ask separately for my credit card.
I should add that this is unusual. Our service is normally fine. Today was a sad exception.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
