We stopped here because of the great Yelp reviews. They are right! Food is superb!
Chips, salsa & guacamole - salsa has a great kick to it, guac is creamy, fresh & delicious.
I had the Buffalo burger with white cheese and green chilies - WOW! It's close to illegal because it's KILLER Good! Just excellent! Highly recommend this!
While my SO had the Carne asada quesadilla - loaded with cheese she could only eat 1/2 of it. It came with bacon beans, rice and guac. Nice!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Imbri S.Ventana Ranch, Albuquerque, NM98250517Jan 6, 2019
We went in starving. You see, we had already hiked City of Rocks State Park, driven about 200 miles to see interesting sites, and put an extra couple miles on our feet looking for hidden objects. We rolled into Deming in that generally slow set of hours between lunch and dinner rushes, and pulled up to the outside of the building. You could smell the undeniable aroma of grilling meat and roasting chile from the parking lot, which only added to our appetites.
We were seated relatively quickly in the small dining room, where only one other table was occupied. There was a party of 10 at that table, but they looked well settled in so we thought nothing of it. The singular waitress came and took our drink order, then wandered off, and we discussed options. She wandered back moments later with some truly wonderful chips and salsa, but we had not quite settled our debate yet, so we asked for one more minute. That minute turned into 10, and another group came in, were seated, and full drink and dinner orders taken before we were able to flag down the waitress again.
Raz ordered a steak, and insisted I get the Churrasco Plate for two. I knew that was far, far too much food, but I wasn't going to debate any further when the Waitress finally graced our table again. Then the wait began in earnest. My phone had been dangerously low on batteries when I'd come through the door, so occupying myself with games was right out, and both Raz and I had reached the point of hangry, so conversation was also right out. We took turns strolling the isles of the little market that also shares the building with the butcher and the restaurant. I'd probably have had time to review the entire trip and post it had I both battery power and mental focus during that seemingly interminable wait.
Every second seemed worth it, though, when I sank my teeth into the first strips of grilled, seasoned beef. Raz's steak was perfectly done and the beefiness was perfectly complemented by salt, pepper, and a light smokiness. In addition to the beef, my churrasco included marinated, grilled pork and chicken, and grilled sausage and vegetables. Every last bit of it was perfection in the mouth, tender and savory and smoky, with faintly crisped and charred edges that added depth to the overall flavor.
Even having been hungry enough to tackle the cow in the field and start eating it before cooking, the both of us couldn't finish the steak and churrasco, but what packed down into the cooler for a midnight snack was barely a quarter of the churrasco's original portion, and no steak remained at all.
We're likely to come back next time we are in Deming, and we'll see if the wait is eliminated so that we can give a fifth star.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vanessa R.Lynwood, CA4765483Mar 10, 2020

Okay Yelper's, This Family Operation is under the same roof as The El Ray Butcher Shop, which I have made purchases from 3 times since I moved to Deming, 3 weeks ago.
Here goes, I decided to dine there for Lunch, and the Selection is amazing! My lovely Server recommended a Combination Plate, which also came with many choices in itself! Wait a minute, am I in LA?? The answer is sort of, because Ramon, Marta, and Ramon Jr. actually are from LA, and Sr. started in the Butcher Business, at the same age that I started in My Family's Retail Beverage Business in Willowick, Ohio!!!
I will tell you, that the Steak, Chile Reano, and Cheese Enchilada were amazing! This place goes down as the best Mexican Cuisine I have ever eaten in my 25 year history all over The Land of Enchantment!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 21, 2017Previous reviewOkay Yelper's, This Family Operation is under the same roof as The El Ray Butcher Shop, which I have made purchases from 3 times since I moved to Deming, 3 weeks ago.

And this is another story, for another time, but the Pork came right from their extensive Meat Counter, and ended up here... - Victor G.Albuquerque, NM089Jul 14, 2017

I am from San Diego and I thought that Mexican food doesn't get better then there. WRONG! San Diego got nothing on this place! I ordered churrasco plate for two and it was FANTASTIC!!!!! The best fajitas I ever ate! Meat was very fresh, flavorful and portion was huge! Can't believe it was only $27.99. Side dishes was delicious as well! Our waitress was so nice and always smiled! I definitely will miss this place!

4 stars for one of the best ribeyes ever! This diner is inside a market/butcher. ..the 12 Oz ribeye was $19.95 and was cooked perfectly. .. will go back any time we're in Deming...parking is plentiful. .

Went here for lunch and the enchiladas were pretty standard. But the home made sauce with the local green chilies is what really made the difference here. The salsa wasn't all that great but it wasn't bad either. This place is really more of a steak place though as it's in a meat market. I would go back here and try it again, but would try different items other than the enchiladas, maybe the fajitas or a steak.

Came here since the reviews seem really good. However upon receiving our food, it was a total fail. Food had no taste! Was very disappointed..

Here's the deal, I stopped through Deming on the way to Texas, and saw this place had good reviews so thought, what the hell. It was dead when I went in on a Friday afternoon, and I was respectfully "hovered" by the waitress working there. Not overbearing or anything, but very attentive.
After looking over the menu, I settled on the Carne Asada burrito plate. When it arrived (within a reasonable 10 minutes or so), I was dumbfounded. I've NEVER recieved a burrito at a restaurant with nothing but meat wrapped in the tortilla. The plate came with beans and rice, guacamole, sour cream and pico de galo on the side, but the burrito was steak wrapped in tortilla. Very strange. Now, normally this would (I assume) infuriate me, as this is not the definition of a burrito (at least in NorCal!) However, one bite into the greatest-tasting steak, wrapped in the greatest-tasting flour tortilla I've ever had, and any concerns over my unorthodox restaurant choice was gone!
The steak was fantastic, cooked perfectly and, I'm only left to assume they blasted a cow in the head the very moment I placed my order!
Don't underestimate those tortillas, now, your probably thinking "um, it's a flower tortilla, how could it be so great?" Bite your toungue you ignorant little human!!!! This is the greatest bit of slightly burnt fluffiness you'll ever cram in your little, unworthy gullet...
Okay, sorry for the rage session, but that's how great those tortillas are. Everything else was middle-of-the-road, but left very satisfied... Meal was 9 bucks...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
