Such a hidden gem! Heading out to Santa Fe for lunch with my GF was well worth the trip. We arrived separately and I was seated in a sunny part of the restaurant. It was perfect as the weather still had a chill,in the air. Lots of natural light fills this cafe. The sun rays gave warmth to the space.
We ordered hibiscus tea, hot. Tea was just what we needed to warm up. I later ordered the avocado toast. My egg was cooked as I liked it ...hard scrambled. My plate arrived with a beautiful green salad on the side which complemented my avocado toast. Perfect meal for lunch.
Our wait staff was attentive but also gave us our space to enjoy the atmosphere and conversation. I have added this place as a nice stop when looking for new places to bring a friend.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Ambiance is great. The decor is very summer, plants lot of windows, awesome front patio.
The service was ok as in They are friendly but the place was empty, just opened and it took them 35 mins for food to come out. Well ordered coffee, dulce de leche latte and ordered extra dulce did not taste anything in the coffee other than milky coffee.
Ordered avocado toast and a granola bowl. When food finally got to the table, it was very good. Toast was super toasted to where I couldn't cut with the knife provided.
I would return with plenty of time to spare.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ken L.Scottsdale, AZ3362Apr 7, 2024
What a gem of a place!!!!
This coffee shop is amazing, one of the best I've been to anywhere.
This a place locals go to - it is off the typical beaten path, so tourists don't seem to flock here (I hope this review doesn't ruin that).
The physical aspects of the place are stunning - huge windows, lots of greenery in a restored building. The coffee is great (my latte was perfect). And, they have amazing empenadas.... The mushroom/cheese one was outstanding.
If I lived in SF, I'd definitely be frequenting Cafecito. And I'd be asking for a server by the name of Ava.... She was so helpful and so friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Located off the main road by some apartments, this restaurant is a hidden treasure. We met both owners during our visit, and from the moment we walked in, we felt very welcome and attended to.
It was pretty busy on a Tuesday around 2pm, but only had to wait about 3 minutes for a table. We each started with a coffee, a mocha and a dulce de leche latte. The espresso was pretty dark, but was mellowed out by the sweetness of the caramel and chocolate.
I got the Locro, the winter special. It was a hearty stew with white beans, pork rib, and sausage, served with some nice, fluffy bread. It was a comforting food, which was lovely for a chilly winter day. Good overall, but not my favorite.
The star of the meal was the chimichurri sauce that came with my husband's breakfast empanada. SO delicious. I actually added some of it on top of my stew and it took it from ok to delicious.
We ended the meal with the panqueque con dulce de leche which was basically a crepe filled with banana and fruit and caramel.
The taste was delicious, but too much caramel for both our liking. I would have preferred more berries and less caramel.
Overall a great meal. I would say go ahead and order anything with the chimichurri and you can thank me later.Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 22, 2024
My mom, my 9y/o, and I stopped in on a recent vacation and Cafecito was absolutely delightful. My mom treated herself to a dulce de leche latte and loved it. I don't recall what she ordered but I ate some of it and it is pictured with the salad. I got a vegan empanada that hit the spot, but I probably would have ordered 2 or 3 if I didn't share some of mom's meal. My 9y/o annihilated the granola bowl and then ordered a second (how spoiled we are when traveling with nana) and ate all of it too. The interior was charming with all the plants. Would definitely go again if I'm ever in the area.

Located so remotely as to make me think we missed it, it's a diamond in the rough. The family-run business makes everything from scratch, and it is all delicious.
From Andrés and his wife, and their daughter, the owners, to Alejandro the waiter, everyone was friendly, attentive, and helpful. My only regret is that we don't have enough time to come back for dinner too.
We ate Spinach and ricotta empanada, Jamon and cheese empanada, vegetable soup, great juice And mocha! And a beautiful salad with Argentinian shrimp! There's nothing bad to share, everything was at our above expectations.
Highly recommend!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Raquel B.Downtown, Baltimore, MD882055Apr 2, 2024
Visiting Santa Fe searched for breakfast brunch found this gem details everywhere, utilized space beautifully opened up the restaurant it's extremely warming and welcoming with an uptown flare to it. The food is excellent! First time ever having a mushroom soup and wow! We will be back it's delicious food. Great service kind people and a cleaning robot kinda cool too.

Would come back for the great ambience/outdoor seating and entertainment, nice empanadas, and even nicer employees. Salad and drinks were average.
5 stars for ambience: outdoor patio/garden area with live jazzy background music. Great spot for a relaxed lunch, coffee, or brunch.
4 stars for food: empanadas had good flavor with excellent non-soggy breading, however the trade-off was slight dry chicken filling (wished there was more green chili sauce). Chimichurri was tasty and made-up for the dryness--would have loved just a little more of it! Jamon y queso was better since the queso gave it some fatty juiciness. My friends liked the Humita (corn, cheese) empanada the best, which they said tasted a little sweet. Friends said cocktails were average: the Lavender Fields Forever was just okay and Where There's Smoke was a little weak. Insalata Paradiso was average--fairly plain. Did get some declious cookies on the way out, especially the alfajorcitos: sandwich cookies with dulce de leche filling (they kind of remind me of Portos' dulce de leche besitos).
Service was a little slow, but super friendly. Perhaps they seemed maybe short-staffed, and it was a relaxing vibe overall. They even split the check 3 ways, which is unheard of in CA.
I would come back just for the fantastic vibe, warm service, and Alfajorcitos!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 11197244Nov 2, 2023
What a gem! The ambiance alone is worth going to Cafecito. Excellent empanadas and lattes! Service was good and everyone was friendly. When I'm back in NM, I'LL BE BACK!

3.5 but I'll round up to a 4.
Came in on a weekend and we were seated quickly. The indoor ambience is beautiful. Service was fine (nothing special, but that's Santa Fe). I was a little disappointed with the empanadas. A little dry (not sure if it was the time of the day we came), but the sweet one was nice.
Not sure if we'll be in hurry to come back, but it was alright. The live music outside was lovely.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0
